Job Summary:

Indigo Signs is a full-service custom sign company. As part of the Estimating and Corporate Operations team, our CAD Design Technician is responsible for using computer-based tools to create production drawings and design parts and assemblies for our talented sign craftsmen. You will originate, develop, and modify conceptual designs to provide finished manufacturing documents that assure quality, manufacturability, functionality, serviceability, and cost-effectiveness.

In this role, you'll:

• Create detailed 2-D and 3-D design drawings for cost-effective production of our entire line of sign products.
• Work closely with all departments, including design, sales, estimating, purchasing, production, and installation, to ensure the requirements and specifications for each project are met.
• Define, create, and maintain development methodologies, procedures, and standards.
• Work at a reasonable pace and within quality standards to ensure timely completion.
• Adapt to changing tasks and project requirements on short notice.
• Learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
• Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, and documentation.
• Seek ways to improve personal productivity as the company and your career grow.

• Knowledge or experience in sign manufacturing or industrial design is preferred
• Knowledge, experience, and/or operation of CNC, sheet metal, paint, welding equipment, and tools is a plus but not required

Requirements:

• 2-year Vocational/Technical Certificate or an A.S or A.A.S. degree in design/drafting - PREFERRED
• CSWP or CSWA Certification or applicable software certification - PREFERRED
• 2-4 + years CAD drawing experience using Solidworks or similar CAD-specific software - PREFERRED
• 2-4 + years manufacturing experience
• 1-3 years current Adobe Illustrator or similar design software experience (Preferred)
• Ability to prepare complex CAD models and drawings from rough sketches, estimates, and oral instructions
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
• Must be in the Fargo Office on-site
